Values and Conduct
The preservation of ethical values has always been a concern for Portugal Telecom, given the scope of its business and its size.
To ensure the existence of a relationship of reciprocal transparency during the procurement process, any benefit for Portugal Telecom must always be presented in the Supplier ‘s proposal, manifested through a better price or service, without any offerings of presents, gifts, or the use of any other forms of influence.
Similarly, the following manners of conduct are not to be expected from Suppliers, in their relationship with Portugal Telecom:
Using less competitive prices in direct negotiations or in situations of a single supplier;
Using low prices during negotiations for the award of the proposal, but with the aim of increasing it once there is the possibility of a contract;
Requesting price increases during the term of the contract;
Requesting information about the other competitors;
Using or proposing ambiguous conditions with the intent to obtain advantage over other bidders;
Lack of truth, or purposely misleading, during the negotiation process;
Commitment beyond their capacity;
Exaggerating the severity of a problem in order to obtain business advantages.
Proactivity
Portugal Telecom expects its suppliers to have an attitude of constant proactivity in proposing innovative solutions that may potentiate income, as well as the quest for rationalization of costs.
Respect
Suppliers shall respect the established channels of communication set out by Portugal Telecom, presenting and negotiating the proposals through the appropriate representatives for each purchase process.
