Supplier Registration Sensitisation
The importance assumed by goods and services acquisition to Portugal Telecom, as well as its suppliers and partners, lead Portugal Telecom to pay special attention to the Procurement function, equipping it with all necessary instruments and attempting to adapt it to the best international practices.
This effort towards continuous improvement originated centralization of Portugal Telecom procurement in PT Compras, recently recognised with the ISO 9001:2000 Quality Certification, awarded by the APCER.
Our operation is guided by the Portugal Telecom Procurement Model, which may be consulted in the suppliers portal, at www.ptcompras.pt, where electronic supplier registration is also available, allowing suppliers to directly access their and keep them permanently updated.
Within the scope of the PT Compras quality policy, only suppliers successfully registered in the suppliers Portal have been considered since last November; an invitation to register action is in course, involving a universe of over 700 suppliers.
This action should be concluded by the end of 2006, when a large number of suppliers is expected to be registered in the suppliers database.
